¿A qué distancia miramos la diferencia?

El título de este proyecto nace a través del cuestionamiento central que planteó el Festival Internacional de Fotografía de Valparaíso el 2017 en el taller realizado con el fotógrafo alemán Paul Hutchinson. Esta es una selección de fotografías realizadas en el marco de aquel encuentro para interpelar las relaciones sociales con el otro. En un Chile que vive la efervescencia de evoluciones y revoluciones sociales: ¿A qué distancia miramos la diferencia? En esta disciplina, la fotografía, el lugar de dónde se mira resulta ser clave: se mira desde la subjetividad, el prejuicio, el deseo, el miedo, desde lo que somos, sabemos y querríamos saber. La fotografía lleva al límite la relación propia con los otros, tensionando y reactivando el juego constante e ineludible de la relación con la otredad.
At what distance do we see the difference?

This is a selection of photographs taken in the workshop held with photographer Paul Hutchinson in FIFV 2017 where the main focus was to answer the central question raised by the festival at what distance do, we see the difference? To emphasize social relations, we have with the one-another. In this discipline, photography, the place from where we decide to observe turns out to be key: one looks from subjectivity, prejudice, desire, fear, from what we are, know and would like to know. Photography takes one's relationship with others to the limit, stressing and reactivating the constant and inescapable game of the relationship with otherness.
